Wel over bloedafwijkingen bij Lyme en overige co-infecties en zelfs virale infecties heb ik enorm veel informatie. Met name medische publicaties. Maar het is erg uitgebreid allemaal en een erg technisch verhaal. Ik zal er ter zijner tijd een topic aan besteden.
Kurkuma is extreem veelzijdig. Ik kan wel zo'n 50 redenen verzinnen waarom Lyme en personen met soortgelijke aandoeningen een baat bij zullen hebben. Maar even terugkomend op de antibacteriële eigenschappen van kurkuma en gember:
Kurkuma:
Curcumin reduces Streptococcus mutans biofilm formation by inhibiting sortase A activity.RESULTS: Curcumin can inhibit purified S. mutans sortase A with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of (10.2±0.7)μmol/l, which is lower than minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 175μmol/l. Curcumin (15μmol/l) was found to release the Pac protein to the supernatant and reduce S. mutans biofilm formation.
A Review on Antibacterial, Antiviral, and Antifungal Activity of CurcuminAll previous investigations have shown the extensive antimicrobial activity of curcumin, although in vivo studies in some cases reported the less effective results of curcumin inhibitory effect. Among all former studies on antibacterial activity of curcumin the most promising result is against Helicobacter pylori, at least for using the curcumin as a complementary compound in combination with other existing medicines to decrease the symptoms of gastritis. The extensive antiviral effects of curcumin against different viral pathogens nominate this compound as an antiviral drug candidate to develop new antivirals from natural resources against sensitive viruses especially by developing different curcumin derivatives. However, using curcumin or its derivatives as antiviral compounds needs further investigations. Regarding the studies on antifungal activities of curcumin the most significant effect was found against Candida species and Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, although curcumin revealed fungicide effect against various fungi.
Inhibition of biofilm development of uropathogens by curcumin – An anti-quorum sensing agent from Curcuma longaSub-MIC concentrations of curcumin effectively inhibit quorum sensing and in vitro biofilm formation in uropathogens. • Sub-MIC concentrations of curcumin also disintegrate mature biofilms of uropathogens. • Curcumin acts synergistically with conventional antibiotics and enhanced bacterial susceptibility towards antibiotics.
Zelfs MRSA:
Synergistic antibacterial effect of curcumin against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.The aim of this study was to investigate the synergistic effect of curcumin and antibiotics as well as to determine the antibacterial activity of CCM against specific MRSA strains. The antibacterial activity of CCM was assessed by the broth microdilution method (by calculating the minimal inhibitory concentration [MIC]), checkerboard dilution test, and time-kill assay. Antimicrobial activity of CCM was observed against all tested strains. The MICs of CCM against 10 strains of S. aureus ranged from 125 to 250 μg/ml. In the checkerboard test, CCM markedly reduced the MICs of the antibiotics oxacillin (OXI), ampicillin (AMP), ciprofloxacin (CIP), and norfloxacin (NOR) used against MRSA. The time-kill curves showed that a combined CCM and OXI treatment reduced the bacterial counts below the lowest detectable limit after 24h. This study suggested that CCM reduced the MICs of several antibiotics tested, notably of OXI, AMP, CIP, and NOR, and that CCM in combination with antibiotics could lead to the development of new combination of antibiotics against MRSA infection.

Ginger Extract Inhibits Biofilm Formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA14In conclusion, this study clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of ginger extract in inhibiting PA14 biofilm formation. Ginger extract reduced cellular c-di-GMP concentration, which appears to affect characteristic phenotypes as demonstrated by reduced biofilm formation, increased EPS production, decreased rugose colony formation on Congo red plates, and enhanced swarming motility.
Synthesis and quorum sensing inhibitory activity of key phenolic compounds of ginger and their derivatives. Present study illustrated that, the phenolic compounds of ginger and their derivatives form a class of compounds with promising QSI activity.
Antibacterial effect of Allium sativum cloves and Zingiber officinale rhizomes against multiple-drug resistant clinical pathogens.CONCLUSIONS: Natural spices of garlic and ginger possess effective anti-bacterial activity against multi-drug clinical pathogens and can be used for prevention of drug resistant microbial diseases and further evaluation is necessary.
Dus Gember En Kurkuma zijn dus effectief tegen biofilms (biofilms beschermen die krengen tegen antibiotica en andere natuurlijke antimicrobe middelen) en effectief tegen quorum sensing (de communicatie tussen bacteriën die ze oa gebruiken om biofilms aan te maken), hebben een brede algemeen antibacteriële, antivirale en anti-schimmel werking en doen de werking van overige antibiotica en andere natuurlijke middelen toenemen.
Van het spul kan je in het begin lichte tot middelmatige herxheimers krijgen. Maar vooral in samenspan met nog krachtigere natuurlijke antimicrobe middelen kan het echt herxheimers geven die niet normaal zijn. Echt enorm sterk. Bizar! IK ben een paar keer toen nog onbewust van deze eigenschappen destijds daardoor echt een paar keer totaal van de kaart gegaan. Dat je urenlang extreme symptoomverergering krijgt. Ik ben er onlangs dus drie maanden mee gestopt zodat het wat testen die ik wilde laten doen niet zou kunnen beïnvloeden maar ben er een paar weken geleden weer mee gestart.
