Startle response.
Segment 1. In the first diagnostic test, the intention to tap the left arm (the visual stimulus) elicits a startle response that mainly consists of bilateral flexion of his arms. His legs are not involved. In the subsequent diagnostic tests, there is no reaction after a visual stimulus but a non-habituating startle reaction after tactile stimulation on his left arm.

Segment 2. Seven days after antibiotic treatment, there is no startle response after tactile stimulation on his chest or arms. However, a myoclonic response of the right sternocleidoid muscle after a gentle tap on the vertex can still be observed, which was no longer seen in the follow-up at two months.

Ik heb hier ook last van, maar ik wist nooit waar dat vanaf zou kunnen komen.

Met name in de tijd van de series halfzijdige verlammingen had ik last van Myoclonus.

Voor de zekerheid zal ik dit morgen met mijn Lyme arts bespreken.

Ik schrik altijd van die onverwachte, korte doch heftige spiersamentrekking(en). Ik had toen ook veel last van fasciculaties.

Wat een grap dat je alleen met een positieve Elisa en positieve Lumbaalpunctie test Neuroborreliose kunt hebben.

Ik snap dan ook steeds beter waarom ik meen dr. Frid (Lyme gespecialiseerde neurologe) zei op het Lyme-congres dat Lyme per definitie NeuroLyme is.

Als je de Europese richtlijnen voor neuroborreliose leest, kan bijna niemand hier aan lijden, het is wel uit 2009:

Myoclonus

Myoclonus is a twitching or intermittent spasm of a muscle or group of muscles. Myoclonus is classified into several major types and many subcategories. The most common type is cortical myoclonus, which arises from an area of the brain known as the sensorimotor cortex. Jerky movements usually have a regular rhythm and may be limited to one muscle or muscle group (focal) or several different muscle groups (multifocal). They may occur without an obvious cause or be a result of many diseases. Some of the diseases associated with myoclonus are Celiac disease, Angelman syndrome, Huntington's disease, Rett syndrome, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and Alzheimer's disease. Subcortical myoclonus usually affects many muscle groups (generalized) and may be the result of abnormally low levels of oxygen in the brain (hypoxia) or a metabolic process, such as kidney or liver failure. Spinal myoclonus usually is caused by a focal spinal lesion, such as multiple sclerosis, syringomyelia, trauma, ischemic myelopathy or an infection such as herpes zoster, Lyme disease, E. coli or HIV. The jerking often lasts longer and is more variable than in cortical or subcortical myoclonus and continues during sleep. The most common type of peripheral myoclonus is hemifacial spasm, which may occur for no underlying reason or be caused by compression of the facial nerve. Movements persist during sleep and may last for only a few days or for as long as a few months. The exact type of myoclonus is delineated further by the parts of the body affected and by the underlying causes.

Dank voor de interessante informatie.
Opmerkelijk vind ik dat onder andere ook Toxic encephalopathies met zware metalen (inclusief Bismuth), Methyl bromide en DDT worden genoemd als één van de oorzaken van Myoclonus.
Mijn oog valt er op omdat ik te maken heb gehad met een zware DDT- en vliegas (zijn giffen in beton(Prefab), stuc-/pleister werk, beton/mortelspecie, verf) vergiftiging. Jong en oud kunnen er nog steeds ziek van worden met ernstige (neurologische) klachten.

Zullen de reguliere Lyme artsen en andere medisch specialisten hier kennis van dragen in de huidige tijd en er iets mee doen? Waarschijnlijk niet.

Meer en meer is mij duidelijk geworden dat Borrelia(Lyme) en co-infecties vaak niet alleen komen en dat daarnaast breder gekeken moet worden als dat mogelijk is.

Een ernstige zware metalen of DDT of vliegas vergiftiging kunnen leiden tot aantasting van het zenuwstelsel. Er ontstaan ernstige beschadigingen aan het zenuwstelsel. Dergelijke stoffen nestelen zich bij voorkeur in het vettige weefsel van de zenuwen en de hersencellen. Daar veroorzaken zij geleidingsstoornissen en beschadigingen. Het zenuwstelsel in hersenen, hersenstam, ruggenmerg en het perifere zenuwstelsel wordt aangetast. Er ontstaat uitval van gevoelszenuwen en functiestoornissen van de motoriek, het beenmerg raakt aangetast, de rode bloedcellen zijn verstoord, aantasting van hormoon vormende organen. Het kan zelfs leiden tot blindheid. Ook de vitamine B12 inbouw wordt aangetast, terwijl de citroenzuurcyclus vertraagd raakt. Sommige stoffen veroorzaken haaruitval.
1 op de 5 mensen kunnen geen intoxicaties/vergiftigingen uit het lichaam werken met alle ernstige gevolgen van dien. De oorzaak? een slecht werkend of zwak immuunsysteem.

Is DDT vandaag de dag uit het milieu en de voedselketen verdwenen? Nee. DDT en drins
De onderzochte bestrijdingsmiddelen zijn de zogeheten drins (dieldrin, aldrin, endrin) en DDT, en de bijbehorende afbraakproducten DDD en DDE. Deze bestrijdingsmiddelen zijn verboden, maar zitten in sommige gebieden van Nederland nog steeds in de bodem.
