1. Introduction
Validation is the evaluating of processes, products, or procedures to ensure compliance with requirements. One of the best definitions of validation is from the US Food and Drug Administration's General Principles of Validation: '...establishing documented evidence which provides a high degree of assurance that a specific process will consistently produce a product meeting its predetermined specifications and quality attributes'.
