Er zijn onderzoeken waaruit is gebleken dat het verdwijnen v.e. EM nog niet meteen betekent dat de spirocheet ook is verdwenen.

Maar ook dat de EM uit zichzelf verdwijnen kan, zonder antibioticum.
(Google bv op: " spontaneously resolving Erythema migrans "

Dus, ook al is de EM verdwenen, met of zonder antibioticum, de spirocheet kan er desondanks nog gewoon zijn.
