Prince Tribute Mix http://giel.vara.nl/media/356264Prince, geboren op 7 juni 1958 als Prince Rogers Nelson in Minnesota, werd beroemd in de jaren zeventig en groeide uit tot een van 's werelds grootste popsterren. Donderdag overleed de Amerikaanse zanger op 57-jarige leeftijd.
Wereldwijd heeft Prince meer dan honderd miljoen albums verkocht. Het popicoon werd bekend met nummers als Purple rain, Let's go crazy, Kiss, When Doves Cry en The Most Beautiful Girl in the World. Hij wist in zijn muziek jazz, funk en disco te combineren.
De lijst van artiesten met wie Prince in de afgelopen tientallen jaren heeft samengewerkt, is vrijwel eindeloos. Van George Clinton, Madonna en Chaka Khan tot Patti LaBelle, Sheena Easton en de Nederlandse saxofoniste Candy Dulfer.

'Die Funker können auch Rocken'2016 september in Weert: Mother's Finest http://www.debosuil.nl/Definition/Detai ... inest.aspx laat zich niet graag in een hokje stoppen, maar worden gezien als de pioniers van de funk. De band voelt zich echter ook als een vis in het water met genres als rock, gospel, R&B en zelfs metal en jazz. Deze mix werd in het pre-Prince en Red Hot Chili Peppers tijdperk als uniek ervaren en leverde de band een flinke schare fans op.
De blended bezetting van de band leverde ze al snel de tagline: "Too damn funky to be white, they rock to hard to be black" op. Het zal Mother's Finest echter bommen, als er maar op gedanst kan worden. Anno 2016 staan Joyce ‘Baby Jean’ Kennedy, Glenn ‘Doc’ Murdock, Jerry ‘Wyzard’ Seay, Gary ‘Moses Mo’ Moore, John ‘Red Devil’ Hayes en Dion Derek nog steeds garant voor een live spektakel waar de grootste hits als 'Baby Love' en 'Piece Of The Rock' met verve worden gespeeld. En dat zal deze avond niet anders zijn!
